City key player De Bruyne remains a major doubt for the Gunners’ clash.

When Manchester City takes on championship rivals Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon, they will try to maintain their flawless start to the 2024–25 Premier League season.

The Citizens prevailed in all four of their first Premier League matches, but they were held to a scoreless stalemate by Inter Milan at home on Wednesday night in the Champions League.

In the North London derby, Arsenal defeated rivals Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 last weekend. On Thursday, they will play Atalanta BC in the Champions League.

In advance of this tantalising Premier League title match, we’ve compiled the most recent Man City injury and suspension updates.

Manchester City injury update for Arsenal game

City will return to action after their 0-0 draw against Inter Milan in their opening Champions League game. Pep Guardiola said endured a frustrating draw but will look to bounce back in their next match when they host Arsenal.

However, the club has some bad news related to their players’ injuries as their key player Kevin De Bruyne might be doubtful for the game while Ake could also sit out on Sunday’s match.

After being observed holding his groin region during the midweek match with Inter and being substituted at halftime, Kevin De Bruyne has become an injury doubt. Following the game, Pep Guardiola provided a quick update on the Belgian.

“We’ll assess tonight and I’ll have more information tomorrow, said Guardiola. The doctors said to me he wasn’t right to play but I was thinking about changing it at half-time anyway.

“When you are alone and lose easy balls, it’s a counterattack — it’s impossible to stop it. You have to be more precise. It happened especially on the left side with Kevin. We lost the ball without pressure and when that happens they can kill you.”

After being carted off the pitch due to a muscular injury sustained while playing for the Netherlands, Nathan Ake will not be able to return until after the next international break in mid-October.

Oscar Bobb sustained a leg fracture during training in the middle of August, and it looks like he won’t be able to play for the first team again until the very end of the season.
