City will travel to St. James’ Park to face the Magpies on Saturday.

Manchester City have continued their fine form in the new season as they stand top of the Premier League with 13 points despite a 2-2 draw against Arsenal. City came from behind to secure a draw after substitute John Stones scored an equalizer in the last gasp of the match.

The match had many confrontations between both sides’ players. Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard was sent off in the encounter.

City will next face Newcastle United in the Premier League. They will travel to St. James’ Park on Saturday during lunchtime.

Heading into this match, Pep Guardiola’s side are set to be without many key players. After losing Rodri in the Arsenal game, things were further compounded when the scans revealed that the Spanish midfielder suffered a serious injury. He could be out for a long period of time. With that, we take a look at City’s injuries and suspension for their match against the Magpies.

Manchester City’s injury news ahead of Newcastle United game

City will miss one of the most important players going into this big game. Rodri, the former Atletico Madrid star, suffered a knee injury against Arsenal. He had to be subbed off as he was not able to continue. After the game, the scans confirmed that he has picked up a knee ligament injury and will be out for the rest of the season.

Pep Guardiola on Rodri, “Unfortunately Rodri got the worst outcome. He got surgery this morning, ACL and some meniscus. This season is over for Rodri. Next season, he will be here.”

Guardiola was already stressed over Kevin De Bruyne‘s injury. De Bruyne had sustained a groin ailment and missed City’s last two matches. But there is optimism that he will be fit before their clash against the Magpies.

Nathan Ake continues to recuperate from a thigh problem. The timeline for his return is understood to be after the next international break. Oscar Bobb has been ruled out for the entirety of this season after fracturing his leg.

Besides injuries, City have recorded no suspensions and will hope to prolong their winning run in the Premier League this season.
