The Ghanaian star is being targeted by many big clubs.
The competition to recruit AFC Bournemouth‘s Antoine Semenyo is fierce between Manchester United and Manchester City.
Semenyo, who netted in Monday night’s exciting 4-4 draw versus United at Old Trafford, has a £65 million release clause in his contract. It will go into effect on January 1. Several elite Premier League teams are showing interest in the forward.
Tottenham are also interested in the 25-year-old, and City are closely monitoring his progress. According to some insiders, Pep Guardiola’s team are now the frontrunner to sign him.
Ruben Amorim called Semenyo a ‘Special Player’
Although Liverpool are still thought to be in the background, United are regarded as a strong rival for both City and Spurs. Prior to the match against Bournemouth, the Red Devils’ boss, Ruben Amorim, called Semenyo a “special player.”
Although United haven’t been actively searching for another forward in January, they think they should seriously explore the chance to sign Semenyo, who could arrive next month for a predetermined price.
According to Sky Sports News, Antoine Semenyo, who has scored 29 goals in more than 100 games for Bournemouth, has frequently been a target of the Old Trafford management.
However, money remains United’s biggest challenge. A £65 million fee might have a significant impact on what they can afford to spend in the summer, when a defensive midfielder is the first priority. However, they are not currently in danger of breaking the PSR limits.
They would not want to risk their ability to bolster the midfield next summer in favour of another attacker. The club are hesitant to engage in a bidding war for Antoine Semenyo with some of the most powerful teams in the Premier League.
Antoine Semenyo’s inner circle maintains that he is only focused on training, fitness, and playing well for Bournemouth despite the rumours surrounding his future.
