Manchester United agree personal terms with PSG star Manuel Ugarte

PSG could end up selling Ugarte after a season.
Manchester United have struck an agreement on personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte. After announcing the acquisition of Leny Yoro, United are keen to add another player from Ligue 1. They are now intensifying their pursuit of Ugarte.
The Uruguayan midfielder and Yoro are represented by the Portuguese super agent Jorge Mendes. Ugarte is willing to join United even though they cannot offer Champions League football. The two teams are at odds right now and PSG won’t let the player go for less than £59m.
The 23-year-old only went to Paris last summer in a £42m transfer from Sporting Lisbon. PSG haven’t decided whether to sell a player who fits their philosophy of developing a younger squad devoid of household names.
Despite the agreement between United and the player, the two clubs are still in the early phase of their negotiations.
Other European and Premier League teams expressing significant interest could be another obstacle for United and their new INEOS recruitment staff.
An inquiry on the young star’s availability has been made by Bayern Munich. PSG have also received contact from two Italian teams and one other Premier League team regarding a possible deal.
Before looking to recruit Ugarte as the newest member of Erik ten Hag’s squad, United may also need to sell a midfield player.
Scott McTominay could be sacrificed to make room for Ugarte, who scored 10 goals in all competitions last season.
