Despite enduring the worst season, the club have made great revenue.

Despite enduring their poorest season on the field in 51 years, Manchester United reported their highest revenue in 2025.

Manchester United released their most recent financial figures on Wednesday, claiming that they demonstrate “the enduring strength and resilience of the club” and the advantages of “difficult decisions taken,” including the layoff of an additional 200 employees.

Manchester United made £666.5 million ($909 million) in total during the fiscal year that concluded on June 30, 2025. Despite just being a slight gain (£4.7 million, or 0.7 per cent) over the previous year, it was sufficient to shatter the previous record.

How did Manchester United make the highest profit in a fiscal year?

The club’s front-of-shirt sponsorship with Snapdragon, the most lucrative agreement of its kind in world sport, and the introduction of its new e-commerce strategy with SCAYL led to the largest rise (by 10%) in commercial revenue.

Because of lower operating costs and a 14.1% decrease in staff spending, Manchester United were able to save £51.5 million. Although the club’s “wider club restructuring” – which included laying off employees – was a contributing factor, the primary driver was the 25% pay cut for players as a result of the team’s failure to qualify for the Champions League the previous two seasons.

One statistic that Manchester United are particularly proud of is its £182.8 million EBITDA. The abbreviation, which stands for earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation, is said to be the most accurate indicator of the performance of a corporation. Since the COVID-19 epidemic, it has been the most successful of any club in European football.

When interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (the cost of player transfers and debt) are taken into account, United are still losing £33 million. However, this is a much smaller sum than the £113 million they lost the year before.

According to a club source, the lack of European football and ongoing player investments have left the financial sheet stretched. They also cautioned that “continued discipline” will be necessary to keep costs low. Improving on-field performance is United’s top priority since it will eventually boost the team’s financial performance.

Which sponsorship contributed the most to Man Utd’s revenue in a fiscal year?

Their front-of-shirt sponsorship with Snapdragon, also a lucrative agreement of its kind in world sport and the introduction of their new e-commerce strategy with SCAYL led to the largest rise (by 10%).

How much pay cut did the players receive under Ratcliffe?

Players received a 25% pay cut under Ratcliffe’s cost-cutting initiative.

How much did they lose in interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation last season?

They lost £33 million.
