Manchester United complete signing of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna

The Dutch scored 11 league goals last season at Bologna

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have finally completed the signing of Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee. The Premier League giants won’t activate his release clause but will rather pay the fee above €40m.

The forward, who is both powerful and clinical, had a successful season with the Serie A team, scoring 12 goals and providing seven assists across all competitions. Having previously seen many changes in the hirarchy and background stauff, Joshua Zirkzee is the first signing of the INEOS era at Manchester United.

Zirkzee, 23, and the Netherlands were eliminated from UEFA Euro 2024 by England in the semifinals, and that event alone has expedited the potential transfer.

Zirkzee’s substantial agent compensation ensured that the transaction moved very swiftly. The reporter implied that the 13-time Premier League winners were “working to finalise” the agreement.

United are also in a race to sign PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte

Manchester United are eager to find an alternative for Brazilian midfielder Casemiro before the summer transfer window shuts for business. The Red Devils are also aiming to bolster their centre-back depth.

Manuel Ugarte, a player for Paris Saint-Germain, has been designated as the top priority. According to writer Santi Aouna of FootMercato, a deal for the Uruguay international is making good progress and is getting closer and closer to happening.

After joining from Sporting CP in the summer, the defensive-minded midfielder’s first season in the French capital didn’t go as expected. The 23-year-old is now behind Vitinha, Warren Zaire-Emery, and other players in the PSG hierarchy, but he might make a strong argument for himself to start at Old Trafford.
