Manchester United confirm Scandinavia pre-season tour in 2026

The Red Devils will start their pre-season two days before the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.
In preparation for the 2026–2027 season, Manchester United will visit Scandinavia this summer (Finland, Norway and Sweden). The Reds have spent the last few preseasons in the United States, with just a few games played in Europe. But the World Cup this summer has made a reconsideration necessary.
United will play EFL Championship team Wrexham in Helsinki, Finland, to kick off this summer’s preseason. On Saturday, July 18, Phil Parkinson’s team will take on Manchester United, who are pushing for promotion to the Premier League this season. From the capital of Finland, United will go to Norway to play Rosenborg.
Date and opponents for United’s 2026-27 pre-season
The young Reds team fell 1-0 at the Lerkendal Stadium in Trondheim when United last faced the Norwegian team during their 2024 preseason tour.
Following that encounter on Friday, July 24, Manchester United will visit Sweden to play two highly anticipated games against top European teams.
United will play Atletico Madrid in Stockholm on Saturday, August 1. Both teams will compete for the Snapdragon Cup. The Reds will next play Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in Gothenburg on August 8.
The Red Devils will conclude their pre-season against Leeds United when they play fierce rivals Leeds at Dublin’s Croke Park on Wednesday, August 12.
With a lot of anticipation for next season, the club are set to look for a new manager after firing Ruben Amorim this campaign and appointing Michael Carrick as an interim head coach until the end of the season. They will hopefully once again make plenty of changes in the squad, with new signings and summer exits.
