The Red Devils are exploring the market for a new manager
It had been widely reported that Xavi Hernandez has changed his mind about leaving Barcelona at the conclusion of the season. This was verified in less than a day, and the 44-year-old will now remain for the 2024–25 campaign.
Xavi declared in January that he would be leaving his position, and he repeatedly stated he wouldn’t change his mind. Because of this, it was unexpected that he decided to remain on, and not just Barcelona supporters were observing the events of earlier this week with interest.
Relevo revealed that Manchester United were keeping an eye on the Barcelona management situation, and Xavi was on their list of potential successors for Erik ten Hag, who has been under growing pressure in recent months. The Premier League side thought Xavi was a young coach capable of leading a significant project.
Man United’s board was dismayed to learn Xavi’s U-turn, and this means that if they do end up firing Ten Hag as many believe, they will have to look somewhere else.

Barcelona won’t give a damn since Deco, Joan Laporta, and the others will have their man for at least another year.
The level of Europe has greatly benefited from Xavi’s labour. The case shows that, unlike what many football fans think, the former Culé is highly appreciated at the European level. In addition to the Old Trafford side, other teams—including Ajax—had inquired about the manager’s future.
Many of these agreements have actually failed because Xavi’s original plan was to take a year off and stay away from managing. However, he opted to stick with it until 2025 after Laporta’s perseverance and the confidence he gave him.
