The Red Devils could be without a few key players when they face the Gunners.
Manchester United, who have so far enjoyed life under Ruben Amorim’s tutelage, will put their newly acquired strength to the test on Wednesday night when they play Arsenal at the Emirates.
Joshua Zirkzee and Marcus Rashford’s braces helped the Red Devils defeat Everton 4-0 on Sunday, their first win under the former Sporting Lisbon coach in the league.
With Sunday’s decisive victory, Amorim’s team has moved into the top half of the Premier League rankings and is now just four points behind Brighton & Hove Albion in the League spot.
Manchester United injury and suspension news
Bruno Fernandes gave Man United a frightening injury scare over the weekend. The Portuguese player was seen icing his ankle after being substituted out early in the second half, and it appears that he will need to be closely evaluated in the next few hours to ascertain his fitness.
Summer signing comeback on Wednesday is thought to be out of the question because Leny Yoro is now back in training following his foot injury from the summer, but Amorim is not willing to push him back into action before he is ready.
There are currently no developments regarding Victor Lindelof’s status since he suffered a groin injury while playing for Sweden during the November international break, but it is unlikely that he will make a comeback for the game at the Emirates.
The 36-year-old veteran defender Jonny Evans will require a late fitness test to ascertain his eligibility for this match after missing Man United’s previous two teams due to an injury.
During the victory over Everton, Kobbie Mainoo received his fifth warning of the Premier League season. As a result, the midfielder will miss one game against Arsenal.
For a similar reason, Lisandro Martinez will not be available to Amorim; in Sunday’s victory, the Argentine received his fifth yellow card of the Premier League season just two minutes after Mainoo.
