Manchester United injury news & travelling squad for Fenerbahce clash in UEL; Luke Shaw update

The Red Devils will miss their key player Bruno Fernandes due to suspension.

Ahead of another crucial week for Erik ten Hag, Manchester United continue to struggle with a long injury list.

Before the flight to Turkey on Wednesday morning, Manchester United trained in front of the TV cameras at Carrington. In United’s third Europa League match of the season, the Reds are heading to Istanbul to face off against former manager José Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.

Erik ten Hag will speak to the media this evening as he gets ready to take on former United boss Jose Mourinho and plan for the club’s first victory of the 2024–2025 European campaign after two draws.

Casemiro returned to the session after being substituted near the conclusion of the 2-1 victory over Brentford. His midfield experience may prove invaluable against the Turkish side. With captain Bruno Fernandes unavailable due to suspension.

He was absent in the training which will allow the midfielder to rest and return for the Sunday game against West Ham United.

After taking a knock against the Bees, fellow centre-back Jonny Evans is doubtful, although Matthijs de Ligt appears to be well despite having a gash to his head on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Harry Maguire and Kobbie Mainoo continue their recovery and won’t be available for the match. Mason Mount is also sidelined for the game. The positive news for United is Leny Yoro has started training and should be back in November. Luke Shaw is back on grass, doing an individual training programme.

After growing mounting pressure with a valiant goalless draw at high-flying Aston Villa prior to the international break, the Red Devils fell behind at home to Brentford as the Premier League returned on Saturday, making things look even more dire for the manager who has always been under fire at Old Trafford.

Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund’s goals helped to ensure a thrilling comeback win and mitigate the pressure off the former Ajax manager.

Bruno Fernandes to miss Fenerbahce clash

United will now be in action midweek when they face Mourinho’s side Fenerbahce in the Europa League. The Red Devils are also without club captain Bruno Fernandes, due to suspension.

The English club are yet to secure their first win in the competition and hopefully, this match will see the club claim the victory away from home.
