Manchester United injury news ahead of Premier League game against Brighton

Victor Lindelof will miss the game versus the Seagulls.
Victor Lindelof will be absent from Manchester United’s second Premier League match of the season against Brighton & Hove Albion, Erik ten Hag has stated.
The Sweden centre-half hasn’t played since the last preseason game in South Carolina against Liverpool. In that game, he was removed as a precaution after playing for 45 minutes.
The manager revealed to the media prior to Manchester United’s journey to Sussex that Lindelof’s toe issue would prevent him from being included in the matchday squad.
Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, two of the Reds’ left backs, are both currently out with injuries. Summer addition Leny Yoro might be sidelined for up to two more months with a fractured metatarsal.
Additionally out due to a hamstring injury is striker Ramus Hojlund.
Only a few days before United‘s 2024–25 Premier League season kicked off against Fulham, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui arrived, strengthening Ten Hag’s defensive options. Joshua Zirkzee, a fellow rookie, had scored a late goal to secure a 1-0 victory.
“There is no confusion [about Lindelof], he has an issue on his toe,” began the boss, Ten Hag.
“So hopefully he can return quickly, but he is not available for the weekend. Where as also we have some more [issues], Tyrell Malacia, Rasmus Hojlund. They are not available as well. Luke Shaw, of course.”
For Brighton, however, who won their first league game at Goodison Park against Everton 3-0, everything is looking up. Pervis Estupinan, Tariq Lamptey and Evan Ferguson have all resumed their training, according to manager Fabian Hurzeler.
“We have to wait now to see how their rehabilitation continues and how they adapt to the intensity,” Hurzeler said at a press conference. “Then we will see if they are an option for the squad but I am very happy that these three players are back.”
