Manchester United star Marcus Rashford dumped by Love Island girlfriend Grace Jackson
Both had recently started dating each other.
The 25-year-old Manchester United player went on dates with Grace Jackson, also 25, who appeared on this year’s season of the ITV program. According to a source, Marcus Rashford’s girlfriend from Love Island broke up with him before she quickly secured a deal to return to the show this new year.
The source said:
“Grace realised that Marcus wasn’t serious about her and has unfollowed him on Instagram. She realised there was no future so she has decided to cut ties.
“When the opportunity arose to take part in Love Island All Stars this winter Grace jumped at the chance, she is still young in her career and is keen to maximise the exposure to help with her modelling work and net campaign deals.
“If she finds love on the show that’s a bonus, especially since she didn’t meet a suitable match in the summer. As far as she is concerned it’s Marcus’ loss, she is putting her best foot forward and can’t wait to enjoy some winter sun in gloomy January.”
Prior to this breakup, Rashford had been in a committed relationship with Lucia Loi, his childhood sweetheart. After departing the villa, Grace, a former store employee, who now has 594,000 Instagram followers, signed a six-figure contract with the fashion and shoe company EGO in August.
Grace, a model and influencer from Walkden, Manchester, appeared on season 11 of the ITV2 dating show this year. She had a brief fling affair with Joey Essex.
This followed a 2023 holiday romance in which she and a former TOWIE star had a liaison a year prior to their appearance on the popular series.
According to an ITV spokesperson:
“Any names suggested are speculation until our line-up is officially announced.”
After being left out of last weekend’s Manchester derby against fierce rivals City, Marcus Rashford—who has earned 60 senior international caps for England—alluded last week to his desire to depart Old Trafford.
He made the following statement while visiting his former Manchester elementary school, Button Lane, to distribute Christmas gifts: “I think I’m ready for a new challenge.”
Rashford is available for Sunday’s home game between Manchester United and AFC Bournemouth, according to coach Ruben Amorim’s confirmation on Friday.
The head coach of Manchester United reiterated that the player’s performance during training will determine their selection rather than a disciplinary matter.
