The Reds Devils are looking to revamp their midfield next summer.

Manchester United have discussed Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace and Hayden Hackney of Middlesborough as possible midfield targets.

Wharton has had an amazing journey to become one of the Premier League’s most talked-about young midfielders. Crystal Palace paid Blackburn Rovers £22 million ($29 million) to sign the player during the winter transfer window earlier this year.

He is under contract with the Eagles until 2029. Therefore, every effort to entice the highly-rated player will demand a substantial financial investment.

Wharton didn’t need much time establishing himself at Selhurst Park after his arrival. Both fans and analysts have praised his efforts, with many praising his passing skills, defensive work rate and vision. Because of these qualities, he was called up to the England squad for Euro 2024.

Oliver Glasner is helping him continue to develop. If the midfielder keeps up his current level of play, Premier League’s biggest clubs may make a move for the young player next summer.

Hayden Hackney is another player who Manchester United are keen to sign. Under Michael Carrick, the midfield player has gained popularity. He has grown under the tutelage of a former United player. Hackney is now attracting interest from top Premier League clubs.

In the middle of the pitch, United have always failed to find the balance. We saw the Red Devils torn apart against Liverpool. The Reds’ players absolutely overran their (United) midfield.

Both Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo had bad displays in the game that resulted in goals. United’s acquisition of Manuel Ugarte will hopefully bolster the team in the midfield. They need a genuine ball career in the midfield.

Wharton and Hackney seem like they will further strengthen their midfield. Getting both of them to Old Trafford won’t be simple. But the team is capable of doing the job under the new board.
