Over 1100-strong workforce were supposed to get a free ticket for Wembley game vs Manchester City
Formerly, the 1,100-person Manchester United staff would have received free tickets, transit to and from Wembley, a beforehand meal, an after-match party, and hotel accommodations in London. Senior personnel and directors could also bring friends and family.
But on Thursday, employees got an email explaining that they would only be given one ticket (directors would also be limited to one) and would have to pay ÂŁ20 for bus transportation to and from Wembley on game day. The other perks have all vanished, reports suggest.
Since it was revealed that Sir Jim Ratcliffe would be purchasing a minority position at Manchester United, cost-cutting has started at the club as the new hierarchy looks to change the practices at the club.
The actions have backed up his statements, from refusing to discuss Erik ten Hag’s future in public to avoid piling further pressure on the player to engaging some of the top football minds in Europe to change Man United’s football system.

The speed at which INEOS have moved thus far is what has even more impressed the United supporters. The club had already named Omar Berrada as its new CEO and Jason Wilcox as its new technical director.
United appears to have decided to break with this “tradition” as they prepare to play Manchester City in this season’s FA Cup final.
“Staff received an email detailing how they would receive only one ticket — with the same limit applied to directors — and would have to pay £20 for coach travel to and from Wembley on the day of the game,” it is said that was sent out on Thursday.
Furthermore, the 1,100-person staff may no longer make use of any of the other privileges on the trip to Wembley. The staff may not have been surprised by this, though, given INEOS has already implemented cost-cutting measures after hiring Interpath Advisory, a corporate restructuring agency, to examine the club’s operations earlier this year.
