Manchester United target Antonee Robinson as Luke Shaw replacement

Shaw has spent most of his time on the sidelines since last season.
The 29-year-old Luke Shaw’s injuries have prompted Manchester United to begin searching for a long-term replacement. They have set their sights on American player Antonee Robinson. Robinson has good skill and agility.
The 27-year-old is valued at £30 million by Fulham. However, they may not block his path if an offer comes their way.
Robinson, who previously played for Everton, moved to Fulham from Wigan in August 2020 for a meagre £2 million.
Robinson was linked to Manchester City, two of Milan’s biggest teams: AC Milan and Inter Milan, last year. His valuation was closer to £35 million at the time.
Indeed, Milan had come close to securing his signature just prior to his arrival at the Cottagers. Before the summer transfer window, Ben Chilwell, a left-back for Chelsea, was also connected to United.
Ultimately, Jadon Sancho was loaned by the Red Devils to the Blues led by Enzo Maresca. However, neither Raheem Sterling nor Chilwell made a switch to United despite links.
Rather, Chilwell remained at Stamford Bridge while Arsenal signed Sterling on a temporary basis (loan) for the remainder of the campaign.
The Red Devils finalised their acquisition of Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal that may have cost up to £50.8 million, capping up an intense transfer window that lasted until deadline day.
The 23-year-old Uruguayan midfielder has not been registered in time to make his Old Trafford debut against Liverpool this afternoon. He signed a contract that runs through June 2029 with an option for an additional year.
With Ugarte’s arrival on the transfer deadline day, United’s spending in this window has surpassed £200 million. They will give £42.3 million as an upfront payment to PSG and an additional £8.5 million if the add-on clauses get activated.
Dan Ashworth, sporting director of United, applauded the signing of the highly regarded defensive midfield player. Since the beginning of the 2022–2023 season, Ugarte has recorded the second-highest number of interceptions per ninety minutes in Europe’s top leagues.
