The Red Devils have made the Argentine available in the market.

According to reports, Manchester United turned down Napoli’s initial offer for Alejandro Garnacho because Gli Azzurri were unwilling to pay the Red Devils’ asking price.

Given how strangely uneven Garnacho’s performances have been over the past, Manchester United are unsure about the Argentine winger’s future. The winger is reportedly a target for Napoli, who this month made their first approach to purchase Garnacho for £40 million ($48.7 million).

According to a recent by Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils have turned down Napoli’s offer for Garnacho because they think the Argentine winger is worth above what Napoli are willing to pay. According to CIES Football Observatory, the 20-time Premier League champions value Garnacho at €97.4 million (£82.27 million).

Antonio Conte, the head coach of Napoli, wants Garnacho to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is leaving for Paris Saint-Germain. However, Italian reports claim that United value the attacker too much, and Gli Azzurri are sceptical about getting Garnacho now. The 2023 Italian champions prefer to hire players who can be highly valuable on the market.

According to reports, Garnacho’s pay would progressively rise during his tenure at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is expected to sign the contract with Paris Saint-Germain soon, while Napoli are searching for an alternative.

After United approved a £26 million summer move for Scott McTominay to Napoli, it won’t be tough for both clubs to indulge in another transfer business.

Garnacho’s departure is still doubtful, though, since Italian publications also claim that Aurelio De Laurentiis, the president of Napoli, is hesitant to make a bid above £42 million, which is far less than United’s asking price.

Garnacho is still a top priority in Ruben Amorim’s plans and is probably going to stay at Old Trafford for the remainder of the current campaign, despite being on the verge of leaving Manchester United. Next up for United is a match against Brighton on Sunday, January 19.
