The England international will move on loan after a medical test at Aston Villa.
Manchester United academy player Marcus Rashford is on the verge of joining Aston Villa on loan, with Villa also having the option to buy the England striker at the end of the season for around £40million.
The England international is expected to undergo medical after agreeing personal terms with the club. The forward will continue to pocket £325,000-a-week as United will cover 25 per cent of his wages.
It’s a pity to see the club’s academy player who had such high hopes placed on him to become a successful player leaving on a sour note after he openly said that he was ready for a new challenge.
Rashford’s time at United was filled with uneven performance as he couldn’t remain consistent so far during his time at the club. Besides that, his attitude was also a problem as during United’s defeats the England international was regularly pictured partying at the clubs.
Ruben Amorim had explicitly criticized Rashford’s commitment and way of life, warning him that he needs to change if he hopes to re-enter his plans.
Having played for United since he was eight years old, Rashford, a 60-time England international, has never participated in senior club football for another team.
Before his medical tests, he said goodbye to his teammates after making a stop at Carrington. Rashford also addressed United staff members.
Now his time at the club is over. He will now focus on building his career somewhere else once again. It’s also unlikely that he will return to the club after the end of the loan window. United will hope that at Aston Villa Marcus Rashford will improve his performance which will help the Red Devils sell the player easily.
Once the medical is complete Rashford will sign a contract with Aston Villa and the club will soon make the official announcement. Now with this, we take a look at Rashford’s Manchester United career in numbers.
