A rumour that could drastically alter the future of the United States Menâs National Team (USMNT) is gaining traction in Europe just two weeks before the 2026 World Cup begins.
According to several sources, Mauricio Pochettino has already agreed on his next assignment and will leave the Stars and Stripes as soon as the World Cup is over to take over AC Milan, a major European football club.
The manager has been in contact with the club after the Italian club fired Massimiliano Allegri, as they finished fifth in the recent season and will play in the Europa League.
There is a lot of attention surrounding the Argentine bossâs current rumours. He has received harsh criticism in recent weeks from teammates as well as for the âimpersonalâ way he informed those who were left off the final World Cup squad selection.

Mauricio Pochettino is now being heavily rumoured to depart the U.S. national team following the World Cup, according to renowned journalist Nicolò Schira. He has already received a formal offer through middlemen to take over as manager of AC Milan.
The Italian board anticipates hearing back in the next few days. Planning for summer arrivals and departures will begin immediately if the Argentine approves.
However, with the World Cup just a few weeks away, this will not be the rumours fans would have expected as they look forward to watching the host nationâs hopes make an impact in the competition.
