The Egyptian has continuously confirmed that he will leave the club after the end of the season.
Although Mohamed Salah, an attacker for Liverpool, has not made a public decision regarding his future, the Egypt international has been giving indications that he has already made up his mind about what he will do in the summer after he sent a heartfelt message to fans following the Reds’ win against Newcastle United.
The seasoned attacker’s deal with the Anfield club runs till the conclusion of June, and it remains to be seen if he stays or signs a lucrative transfer to the Saudi Pro League.
There is a genuine concern that the 32-year-old’s stay may be coming to an end, despite the Reds’ obvious desire to keep the winger on their roster following an incredible season in which he has dominated the Premier League in goals and assists.
In the past, Salah has hinted that he would leave the team, even telling supporters that his contract negotiations had not advanced.
“It’s my last year at the club and I want to do something special for the city,” he told Sky Sports when asked about his ambition to win the Premier League.
“It’s the last six months. There is no progress [on contract talks]. We are far from making any progress, so we just have to wait and see.
The Egyptian fueled rumours that he would depart after Liverpool defeated Newcastle 2-0 on Wednesday afternoon, moving them 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League.
“I just want them to remember that I was here for eight years and I gave everything,” he told TNT Sports. “I want the fans to remember that I gave everything for them, everything for this city. I loved football, I gave everything for it and I wasn’t lazy. I think that’s what it’s about, they give you love, you have a connection with the fans because you give everything.”
Meanwhile, Al-Hilal have not shied from showing interest in signing the player and even the head coach has confirmed that they would want Salah to join the club. It will be interesting to see how things turn out for the former AS Roma player.
