Ronaldo says he is going to retire ‘soon.’
Cristiano Ronaldo admits he will retire “soon,” acknowledging that it will be tough to finish his dazzling career. The 40-year-old also added that he has been preparing for life after football for a while.
With 952 goals for both club and nation, the Al Nassr striker is the all-time top scorer. Before giving up the game, he stated last month that he is aiming for 1,000 goals.
The 40-year-old, who started playing football 23 years ago with Sporting CP in Lisbon, Portugal, has a contract with Al-Nassr of the Saudi Pro League that expires in June 2027. He intends to play for Portugal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, next summer, which will be jointly hosted by the US, Canada, and Mexico.
Ronaldo reveals when he will retire from football

When Piers Morgan asked Cristiano Ronaldo when he planned to retire, he responded as follows:
“Soon. I think I will be prepared. It will be very, very difficult,” he said in an interview on Piers Morgan’s Uncensored, published on Tuesday.
“But, I have prepared my future since 25, 26, 27 years old. I think I will be capable to support that pressure. Nothing will compare to the adrenaline you have to scoring a goal in football.
“But everything has a beginning and everything has an end. I’m going to have more time for myself, for my family, to raise my kids.”
Cristiano Jr., who now plays for Al Nassr youth and has represented Portugal at the juvenile level, is one of Cristiano Ronaldo’s five children whom he is raising with fiancée Georgina Rodriguez.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who told Morgan that becoming a billionaire at the age of 39 had fulfilled one of his life’s ambitions, also has a growing media following with 77 million YouTube subscribers, a real estate empire, and a varied business portfolio centred around his CR7 brand, which includes items like underwear and aftershave.
