The Atlas Lions will play friendlies before starting their World Cup campaign.

Newly appointed manager Mohamed Ouahbi has announced Morocco’s final FIFA World Cup 2026 squad. The Atlas Lions prepare for another memorable run in the competition.

However, this time Walid Regragui won’t be on the touchline, who led the team to a historic semi-final four years ago. Ouahbi has been overseeing every game following AFCON 2025.

The Atlas Lions have happy memories from their previous appearance at the international competition. But Morocco will still be in pain from their Africa Cup of Nations heartbreak when they travel to the World Cup this summer. This is despite being handed the AFCON trophy after a controversial boardroom ruling by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Morocco will now look to shift their attention to one of the biggest events in football. This time, they will be determined to go one step further in the competition.

They were one of the underdogs in the 2022 competition. They beat the likes of Spain and Portugal, which has now exceeded their expectations going into the 2026 event. A lot will be anticipated from them this time, following a historic World Cup four years ago.

But this time, there are plenty of changes in the roster. Many players from the 2022 squad have been left out after Ouahbi announced Morocco’s World Cup squad.

The final team will regroup and travel to the USA to play two friendlies to begin their World Cup preparations. They will commence their World Cup against five-time winners Brazil, followed by games against Scotland and Haiti.
