Both sides are seeking their first-ever World Cup title as they face off in tonight’s Round of 32 clash.

Morocco take on the Netherlands in their Round of 32 clash in the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026 at Estadio BBVA in Guadalupe, Mexico, on June 29. The Atlas Lions qualified for the knockouts as the Group C runners-up and will face an Oranje side that topped Group F.

The Maghrebis started their campaign with a feisty 1-1 draw with Brazil. Ismael Saibari saw his opener cancelled by Vinicius Jr. Saibari was on the scoresheet once again in the next match against Scotland, sealing a 1-0 victory.

The North African team then sealed a nervy 4-2 win over Haiti, finishing the group stage in second place with seven points. After becoming the first African team to progress to the last four in 2022, the Atlas Lions will look to repeat that trick in the expanded 48-team edition in North America.

Thoughts on the lineup

After fielding a much-changed side against Haiti, Mohamed Ouahbi will resort to his favoured playing XI in tonight’s game. Yassine ‘Bono’ Bounou starts between the sticks, with the centre-back pairing of Issa Diop and Chadi Riad in front of him. Influential skipper Achraf Hakimi and Dutch-born Noussair Mazraoui start in the full-back positions.

Ayyoub Bouaddi has been a revelation in central midfield and is paired with Roma’s creative outlet, Neil El Aynaoui. Girona attacker Azeddine Ounahi starts in an advanced role. Ismael Saibari has been in brilliant form with two goals to his name and starts as the team’s lone striker.

Brahim Diaz has been solid in the three group-stage games and will once again control the right flank along with Hakimi. Stuttgart star Bilal El Khannous slots in on the left wing, having been one of his side’s best players in the tournament so far.
