Morocco's road to FIFA World Cup 2026: Complete warm-up match schedule
The Atlas Lions reached the semi-final of the previous World Cup.
In order to give its new coach additional time for his preparations ahead of the World Cup, Morocco have decided that they will play three warm-up games prior to the FIFA World Cup 2026 next month.
After Walid Regragui resigned in March, the Atlas Lions, who had unexpectedly advanced to the semifinals of the World Cup in Qatar four years prior, hired Mohamed Ouahbi as coach.
Since taking over, Ouahbi has only managed two games: a stalemate with Ecuador and a triumph over Paraguay just a few weeks into his tenure.
Morocco FIFA World Cup 2026 warm-up schedule
- Morocco vs Burundi – May 26 (Morocco training centre, Salé)
- Morocco vs Madagascar – June 2 (Morocco training centre, Salé)
- Morocco vs Norway – June 7 (Basking Ridge, New Jersey)
The Moroccan football federation announced that the team will play Burundi behind closed doors on May 26 at its training facility in Salé, followed by a match against Madagascar on June 2 in Rabat. The second one will allow fans to bid the players farewell.
The Moroccans will wrap up their preparations with a match against Norway on June 7 in New York after arriving in the United States. It will be located at their base camp in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.
According to sources, the Atlas Lions plan to start preparations on May 22 but won’t announce their team until a week later.
The Atlas Lions, drawn in Group C of the World Cup, will play Brazil on June 13 in New York, Scotland on June 19 in Boston, and Haiti on June 24 in Atlanta.
