The Dutch are currently second in their qualifiers group.
On Friday, coach Ronald Koeman announced his 25-man roster for the Netherlands’ World Cup qualifying matches against Poland and Lithuania, giving Feyenoord captain Sem Steijn and Sunderland custodian Robin Roefs their first call-ups.
The Oranje are currently second in their Group G, with Finland ahead in the table with a point. These September games will be crucial for Koeman and Co. in their attempt to guarantee a spot in the competition next year.
Next Thursday, the Netherlands, who swept their first two Group G matches in June, will host Poland in Rotterdam. On Sunday, September 7, they will travel to Kaunas to play Lithuania.
Jurrien Timber, who sustained an injury in June, is back in the team, and Jerdy Schouten, the captain of PSV Eindhoven, is called up to replace Mats Wieffer, the injured midfielder.

Bart Verbruggen, their first-choice goalie, is also returning after missing the last two matches against Malta and Finland in the middle of the year.
Jeremie Frimpong, Liverpool’s recent acquisition, is out for a number of weeks due to a hamstring injury. He is not in the final squad list.
