A regrouped Netherlands will face England after beating Turkey 2-1 in the quarterfinals of Euro 2024. The Dutch are now enduring a decent tournament after a poor group stage with just one win. Ronald Koeman’s side have appeared a different team since the 3-0 win against Romania.

The Dutch came from behind against Turkey to clinch their place in the semi-final. It has happened after so many years the Netherlands have come this far in a major tournament and will be hoping to reach the final for the first time since 1988.

Orjane star Cody Gakpo has been in fine form, scoring four goals in the Euro 2024 tournament and is leading the top goalscorer charts. Netherlands will rely on the likes of Gakpo, Memphis Depy and Xavi Simons in the attack and they also boast a robust defence.

For England, this will be another stern test to overcome the nightmares of their Euro 2020 final loss on penalties. They have failed to show why they deserve to reach the semi-final of the competition winning games by fine margins. The penalty shootout win against Switzerland was another testament to their poor showing as they once again were able to pull themselves from the jaws of defeat after Bukayo Saka scored an 80th-minute goal.

If they are to go to the final of Euro 2024, England will have to play their best brand of football because they are facing a side that boasts plenty of attacking intent and will hurt the Three Lions at any given chance.
