Newcastle United eye Benjamin Sesko as Alexander Isak replacement: Report

The Sweden international has told the English club he wants to leave.

Surrounding the uncertainty of Alexander Isak, Newcastle United have started looking for his replacement and have located Benjamin Sesko as the Swede’s alternative.

Isak reportedly told the club that he wants to explore a new challenge in the current summer window, with the Magpies demanding £150m for the former Real Sociedad player.

Liverpool and other clubs have expressed interest in signing the centre-forward, but for now, it remains to be seen where Isak’s future lies.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United are exploring the transfer window for a new striker who can fill in Isak’s shoes at the club. RB Leipzig‘s centre-forward has caught the eye of the Premier League club.

However, the English club will only sign the Slovenian star, who netted 13 goals in 33 Bundesliga appearances last season, if Isak leaves.

Moreover, other Premier League sides have also shown interest, as Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are keeping tabs on Sesko’s situation at the club.

Liverpool have set their heart on signing Isak, even after acquiring Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt recently.

Isak, who was not included in the club’s squad for pre-season yesterday, made his decision known to find a new club in the summer window.

The Sweden international produced  27 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions last season, and his exit will be a very big void for the club to fill.

Despite securing their place in the UEFA Champions League for next season, the club have barely bolstered their squad, signing only Anthony Elanga. If Isak does leave, then it will be a massive blow for the team, who will be competing in several competitions next campaign.
