Neymar promises to bring World Cup back to Brazil & score a goal in final in 2026

The forward also hopes to score in the final.
Neymar had a clear objective for 2025: help Santos survive relegation and he played a key role in that despite suffering an injury.
Now, as he recovers from his injury, Neymar has laid out a clear objective for 2026: to play in the FIFA World Cup 2026 and bring the trophy back to Brazil.
Neymar hopes to bring the World Cup trophy back to Brazil next year
“We’re going to do the possible and also the impossible to bring the World Cup to Brazil. In July you can hold me accountable. Hey Ancelotti, help us.” he said.
“If we get to the final… I promise I’ll score a goal”.
The Santos star is still waiting to feature under Ancelotti for the Brazilian National Team due to severe and persistent injuries. The Italian coach has stated in press conferences that he won’t call Neymar until he is completely fit and ready.
Will Neymar be fit in time for World Cup 2026?
Neymar’s Santos contract expires at the end of 2025, but the São Paulo club’s board is still hopeful that it will be extended for at least a further six months.
Neymar will still have surgery on his left knee in 2025 after suffering a meniscus injury at the conclusion of the Brasileirão. He is also set to visit a ‘miracle doctor’ to recover from the injury as soon as possible.
Much will depend on the former Barcelona star’s fitness to play in the competition next year. Ancelotti has already made it known that he will prefer a squad that is ready to inspire the Selecao to a trophy.
Meanwhile, the 33-year-old will be hoping to be called up to the squad, but his main worry would be avoiding injuries next year if he wants to play for the national team in the event.
When was the last time Neymar played for Brazil?
His last game for Brazil was in 2023.
Have Brazil qualified for the competition?
Yes.
How many World Cups have the Selecao won?
They have won five World Cups.
