The Santos star is still waiting to feature under Ancelotti for the Brazilian National Team due to severe and persistent injuries. The Italian coach has stated in press conferences that he won’t call Neymar until he is completely fit and ready.

Neymar’s Santos contract expires at the end of 2025, but the São Paulo club’s board is still hopeful that it will be extended for at least a further six months.

Neymar will still have surgery on his left knee in 2025 after suffering a meniscus injury at the conclusion of the Brasileirão. He is also set to visit a ‘miracle doctor’ to recover from the injury as soon as possible.

Much will depend on the former Barcelona star’s fitness to play in the competition next year. Ancelotti has already made it known that he will prefer a squad that is ready to inspire the Selecao to a trophy.

Meanwhile, the 33-year-old will be hoping to be called up to the squad, but his main worry would be avoiding injuries next year if he wants to play for the national team in the event.
