Neymar reaches agreement to extend Santos contract: Report

The Brazilian player’s current deal is expiring at the end of June.
Reports from Brazil state that Neymar and Santos have agreed on a new contract and will sign it this week. His present contract expires at the end of June.
Brazilian publication UOL claims that the club and the player have come to an agreement on a new deal. Club president Marcelo Teixeira will meet with the player’s father on Tuesday to finalise the terms of the extension. On June 30, forward’s present deal with Santos comes to an end.
Despite reports that the former PSG player was in talks with a few UEFA Champions League clubs in Europe, the club’s president had previously alluded to the potential contract extension earlier this week.
Neymar set for an enormous pay rise after extending his contract with Santos
Santos will pay €13 million (£11 million/$15 million) in increments until December 2026 as part of the new agreement, which will also feature performance-based incentives with payments linked to games played and goals scored. On Friday, Neymar is anticipated to resume training, most likely with a fresh deal in hand.
One of the teams rumoured to be interested in signing the 33-year-old this summer is Fenerbahce, a Turkish powerhouse under Jose Mourinho’s coaching.
Fenerbahce, who placed second in the Super Lig the previous season, are keen to bolster their roster in anticipation of the 2025–2026 campaign. They are rumoured to be huge fans of the former FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain player.
The 33-year-old has played in 12 games for the Brazilian team since rejoining from Al-Hilal in January, tallying three goals and three assists.
The forward hopes to lead his country in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place in North America, and will be praying for a year free of injuries. The Brazilian ace has also received signals of empowerment from Carlo Ancelotti, the new manager of the Selecao, who says he is free to play anywhere on the field and that he is counted on.
