After a devastating collision with Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, the German star had to be carried off the field. Neymar, a legend of Brazil, sent the midfielder a supportive note and wished him a quick recovery.
Musiala rushed to the byline during the first half of the game, causing the startling occurrence. He was positioned between Donnarumma, who was charging, and PSG defender Willian Pacho.
The Italian goalie threw himself forward to try to catch the ball, but Musiala’s leg got stuck awkwardly beneath the custodian’s torso. The Bayern player fell to the ground screaming for help.
Many players and clubs have sent their speedy recovery wishes to the forward. Neymar has also shown an excellent gesture after posting Musiala’s photo with a heartfelt message.
Taking to Instagram, the Santos and Selecao star shared a heartwarming message for Musiala as he wrote in his story:
“Hope you recover quickly and shine again. Football needs your talent. Power to you.”
The players present on the field were horrified to see the 22-year-old’s foot appear to be abnormally twisted at the ankle as he collapsed to the ground. Musiala will be out for four months after apparently breaking his left fibula.
For much of the 2025–2026 season, Bayern will be without Musiala. It is unclear if they will look to sign the star player’s replacement during the summer transfer window. On Wednesday, PSG will return to action when they play Real Madrid in the semi-final of the Club World Cup.
