Neymar to miss entire group stage of FIFA World Cup 2026 for Brazil - Report

The 34-year-old is set to appear in his fourth-ever World Cup.

Led by Carlo Ancelotti, the Brazil national football team are all set to lock horns with the Morocco national football team for their opening game of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

A Selecao are all set to step foot on the grandest stage of them all with a well-balanced squad. Stars like Vinicius Junior and Raphinha are going to be prominent in the attacking front. Establishing strong control in the midfield will be Casemiro, Bruno Guimaraes and Lucas Paqueta. Ancelotti is all set to proceed with the 3-man midfield.

Names like Marquinhos, Gabriel, Alex Sandro and Danilo will be forming a strong backline. Between the sticks, the experienced Alisson Becker will be looking to give it his all. There are still some concerns about Neymar, who is still not fit to compete for the Brazil national football team.

Neymar could miss entire group stage of World Cup

As per some recent reports, the 34-year-old Santos star is now set to miss all the group stage games for Brazil at the FIFA World Cup 2026. This can be a serious concern for both the player and the squad.

Neymar will most likely miss the opening game against Morocco due to his fitness issues, but for the remaining two group stage games, there are no confirmations as of now. The 34-year-old is the all-time top scorer for the Brazil national football team (79 goals in 128 matches).

Ahead of the FIFA World Cup, Neymar also mentioned that he desires to represent his nation for the one final time at the grandest stage of them all. Currently, the situation is not looking in favour of the Brazilian superstar. As per the recent scenario, he might spend more than the sidelines.
