The Brazilian helped Santos battle a relegation scare during his struggles with injury and pain.
Neymar’s knee surgery went well. The winger is eager to recover and show that he is deserving of a spot in the Brazil team for the upcoming 2026 World Cup.
Neymar is hopeful that he will get a call from Carlo Ancelotti for the national team squad to play in the World Cup next year.
In January, the 33-year-old rejoined his hometown team, Santos, and was instrumental in their survival in the Brazilian top division. Despite the discomfort, he scored five goals in their previous four games.
It was another injury-plagued spell for the forward at Santos, but he was decisive in saving them from relegation after playing with an injury.
Following the end of the campaign, the Brazilian club finished 12th in the league. Meanwhile, Neymar underwent knee surgery in the hope of being fit in time for the World Cup.
Successfully underwent knee surgery and will now start his recovery

Santos stated in a statement on Monday that Rodrigo Lasmar, the physician for the Brazilian national team, carried out the procedure.
“An arthroscopy was performed to treat a medial meniscus injury. The surgery was a success, and the athlete is doing well,” the club said.
Santos did not specify when he would return from his injury, although Globo Esporte, a Brazilian publication, stated that Neymar’s recuperation could take up to a month.
Due to a string of ailments, Neymar, Brazil’s top scorer with 79 goals, hasn’t played for the five-time World Cup winners since 2023.
Ancelotti stated in October that he must be healthy to be called up to the team for the 2026 WC competition that will take place in the US, Canada, and Mexico next summer.
In Group C, Brazil will play Scotland, Morocco, the 2022 World Cup semifinalists, and Haiti.
