Nico O’Reilly was brought into the City first team squad last season to help with the team’s injury crisis in defence, and he seized the chance. The Academy graduate’s Man-of-the-Match performance in the weekend’s main event was highlighted by his brace of headers in the second half, which completed an incredible and well-earned 2-0 victory over Arsenal.
In addition to giving Pep Guardiola’s team their first trophy of the season, this most recent League Cup victory—the ninth in City‘s history—also bodes well for the campaign’s pivotal final two months.
