Nico Williams returned to full team training at the team’s base in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on Thursday and is likely to play a part in this game. However, Luis de la Fuente might not field him in the starting line-up. Nico Williams was selected for Spain’s 26-man playing XI despite not being fully fit.

Apart from him, Barcelona star Lamine Yamal could also miss out on Spain’s opening fixture. As a result, Ferran Torres, Mikel Oyarzabal, and Álex Baena are very likely to start as La Roja’s attacking trio against Cape Verde.

Putting out an attacker with injury concerns could make La Roja’s situation worse. Thus, De la Fuente would need to find the right balance in his team’s attack before his star wingers return. Additionally, he would have to keep his star players ready for bigger clashes that await the Spanish side.
