Having the home advantage, the Super Eagles are most likely to win.

The Africa Cup of Nations has already begun (qualifiers). Teams will be playing their group-stage matches. Group D belongs to Nigeria and Benin along with Libya and Rwanda. Last season (AFCON 2023) went amazing for the hosts as they went to the finals but lost to Ivory Coast. Talking about Benin, they failed to qualify for the last season. This is going to be the first match for both teams.

Both Nigeria and Benin recently faced in the World Cup qualifier match in June 2024, which ended with the away team winning by a 2-1 score. Post the 2023-24 AFCON finals, Nigeria’s performance dipped as they lost to teams like Mali, Benin and others. On the other hand, Benin are performing significantly well, considering their past stats. They defeated Rwanda and the Super Eagles in the World Cup qualifiers.

Ademola Lookman is one of the most important players in the team currently. He plays as a winger in his national team Nigeria and club Atalanta BC. Last season, Lookman in seven matches scored thrice and assisted once in AFCON. His stats in Atalanta BC were even more impressive, as he scored 11 goals and assisted seven times in the 2023-24 season.

Steve Mounie (Benin)

Steve Mounie, a 29-year-old Beninese professional, plays as a striker. He represents FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga. Mounie has a couple of goals to his name in World Cup qualifiers 2023-25. He is quick on the field and his goal-converting ability makes him even more considerate on the field.
