Norway announce squad for upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers; Erling Haaland included

Norway will face Italy and Estonia in June matches.
Erling Haaland, Martin Odegaard, Alexandre Sorloth, and Morten Thorsby are among the 25 players selected by Norway for their forthcoming World Cup qualifying matches against Italy and Estonia.
The 24-year-old Haaland has scored 31 goals in 44 competitive games for Manchester City this season. He has an incredible 40 goals in 41 senior caps for Norway.
Oscar Bobb, a star for Manchester City, has been called up after a protracted injury layoff. Marcus Pedersen, the defensive player for Torino, and Thorsby, a midfielder for Genoa, are the two Serie A players in the squad.
But by being selected for Norway’s national squad, Thelonious Aasgaard has drawn notice. Despite Luton’s decline in league standing, Aasgaard’s nomination indicates his growing prominence as the Norwegian team gets ready for important World Cup qualifying matches against Italy and Estonia.
Aasgaard’s future seems bright with this call-up, which will allow him to display his skills on a larger platform. His future with the national squad was questioned in previous conversations. Despite Aasgaard scoring on his full debut cap during a resounding victory, Norway’s coach, Stale Solbakken, apparently alluded to the possibility that playing in League One could compromise his selection.
This nugget of information heightens the tension as supporters question whether his time in League One will affect his ability to play for his country.
