The Lions will face Moldova and Israel in the qualifiers.

Ståle Solbakken has named Norway’s squad for their 2026 World Cup qualifier games against Moldova and Israel. The national team hopes to secure its place in the competition next year.

Solbakken has named a quality roster for the matches with the likes of Erling Haaland, Alexander Sorloth and Martin Odegaard named in the team. Their presence certainly boosts the team’s chances of winning the matches as they add extra quality to the squad.

The rest of the stars will also be looking to make an impression for their World Cup qualifier games. Norway’s senior team has also selected Torbjørn Heggem for their first two 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.

Heggem’s country will play two away games to start the qualifying campaign: Israel on Tuesday, March 25, and Moldova on Saturday, March 22.

Norway are the favourites going into the qualifiers as they have an imposing squad quality that should get the job done. They have an impressive attacking unit with Haaland and Sorloth, two of the greatest threats that can cause trouble to any team’s defence.

Norway finished top of their Nations League group with 13 points, losing only once. They will hope to continue their fine form when they face Moldova and Israel.
