Journalist Rich Fay claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would be open to making an unexpected comeback to Manchester United as interim manager.
Following Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Leeds United, the Red Devils sacked Ruben Amorim due to his critical remarks regarding the club’s management.
Darren Fletcher has been appointed interim manager by United. The club intend to name a temporary replacement before appointing a permanent manager in the summer.
Oliver Glasner of Crystal Palace is said to be the front-runner. Michael Carrick, Thomas Tuchel, Gareth Southgate, and Enzo Maresca are all in the running.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has indicated a desire to make an unexpected comeback to his old team, given the possibility of a short-term position.
Since being fired by Turkish team Besiktas in August following their elimination from the UEFA Conference League play-offs by Lausanne, the Norwegian has not had a job. After Jose Mourinho was fired by United in December 2018, Solskjaer was named caretaker manager.
Under his reign, the club fared brilliantly and appeared serious title contenders following their finish in the top four.
The club’s management gave him the permanent position after he led the team to an amazing 11-match winning streak.
Under Solskjaer, United finished third and second in the Premier League. In cup tournaments, they advanced to five of the six semifinals. But after a terrible run of only one victory in seven top-flight games, he was fired in November 2021.
