Panama starting lineup vs Croatia confirmed for FIFA World Cup 2026 match

Panama take on Croatia in a tough Group L clash in the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026 at BMO Field in Toronto on June 23. The Central American side suffered a narrow loss against Ghana in their opening match and will look to bounce back tonight to keep themselves in contention for the knockout stages.

Despite dominating large stretches of the match and neutralising the Ghanaian attack, Los Canaleros conceded deep in stoppage time, with the match ending 1-0. It was a demoralising result for Thomas Christiansen’s men, who will need to regroup and start from scratch tonight.

With a tough clash against England still to come, Panama know that anything short of a win tonight will leave their qualification hopes out of their hands. Despite Croatia coming into the game after a bruising defeat against the Three Lions, they enter tonight’s match as the favourites and will be a tough test for their opponents.

Thoughts on the lineup

Al-Fayha goalkeeper Orlando Mosquera starts between the sticks. In front of him is the three-man defence of Cesar Blackman, Jiovany Ramos, and Norwich City’s Jose Cordoba. Besiktas’s Michael Amir Murillo starts as the right wing-back. LASK defender Andres Andrade, normally a centre-back, slots in at left wing-back.

Carlos Harvey, who plays in MLS with Minnesota United, starts in the defensive midfield role and will be tasked with shielding his backline. He is joined by Cristian Martinez, who plays in a box-to-box role.

Jose Fajardo, who has 17 goals for his international side, starts as the central striker. He is flanked by the versatile Yoel Barcenas on the right and Mexico-based Jose Luis Rodriguez on the left.
