Paraguay name 26-man squad for FIFA World Cup 2026 ft. Miguel Almirón

The North American nation have confirmed their World Cup roster.
The entire 26-player Paraguay team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup has been revealed. The nation has made it to the FIFA World Cup nine times.
In 2010, they achieved their greatest World Cup result, when they were defeated 1-0 by eventual champions Spain in the quarterfinals.
Today, Gustavo Alfaro, the head coach, revealed the squad for the competition in North America. The team’s captain is Gustavo Gómez. With 88 caps for Paraguay, the 33-year-old centre back for Palmeiras is also the most seasoned player.
Miguel Almirón is another key member of the team, as he is one of the most well-known players on the team from Atlanta United. Omar Alderete (Sunderland), Julio Enciso (Strasbourg), Diego Gómez (Brighton & Hove Albion), and Júnior Alonso (Atlético Mineiro) are other important members of the team named in the squad.
La Albirroja’s World Cup campaign will begin on June 12 in Los Angeles, California, when they take on the hosts, the United States. Paraguay will compete in Group D.
They play Turkey in Santa Clara, California, eight days later. On June 25, they will play their last group stage game in Santa Clara against the hosts, Australia.
With the final roster confirmed, the North American side will now begin their World Cup preparation and will play a warm-up game against Nicaragua.
