Paris Saint-Germain's all transfers completed so far in 2024-25
The French giants are expected to sign several world-class players towards the business end of the window.
With the 2024–25 season fast approaching, reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain have commenced their summer pre-season preparations in order to win multiple trophies in the upcoming campaign.
In the 2023-24 season, PSG claimed their 12th French league title along with the Coupe de France and the French Super Cup. However, PSG failed to win the UEFA Champions League once again as they got knocked out by Borussia Dortmund in the semifinal stage. Despite massive spending on transfers in recent seasons, the French giants are yet to showcase their dominance in European competitions.
Unlike previous years, Paris Saint-Germain are yet to do substantial business this summer as the club prepares itself for a new era following the departure of Kylian Mbappe.
The only PSG signing so far comes in the form of talented Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, who joined the club from FC Krasnodar on a five-year contract. Last season, Safonov made 30 appearances for the Russian side across all competitions, registering a respectable 11 clean sheets in the process. The 25-year-old shot-stopper is expected to serve as the backup option for PSG’s first-choice goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
In addition, Paris Saint-Germain are soon set to officially announce the mega signing of Portuguese defensive midfielder João Neves from Benfica. The two clubs have reportedly agreed on a total transfer package of around €70 million. The French giants are also in constant negotiations with Italian side Napoli for the potential signing of their star striker Victor Osimhen.
At the start of the summer, a total of 13 players returned to PSG following the end of their respective loan spells at other clubs.
On the other hand, Paris Saint-Germain have also offloaded certain players this summer in order to create much-needed space in the squad for potential incoming transfer targets.
The biggest departure of the transfer window so far for the French club was undoubtedly the free transfer of Kylian Mbappe to Spanish giants Real Madrid, following the expiration of his PSG contract.
Following Hugo Ekitiké’s successful loan spell at Eintracht Frankfurt last season, the German club decided to activate the buy option clause for the dynamic striker in order to make the transfer permanent.
Talented French midfielder Edouard Michut joined Turkish side Adana Demirspor on a free transfer following the expiration of his club contract at Paris Saint-Germain. In addition, attacking midfielder Noha Lemina secured a permanent move to Ligue 2 outfit FC Annecy for an undisclosed fee.
Ageing fringe squad players such as Layvin Kurzawa, Keylor Navas, Sergio Rico and Alexandre Letellier have all left the club as free agents on the expiration of their respective contracts in the summer.
With Paris Saint-Germain far from done in terms of rebuilding their overall squad, further potential incomings and outgoings are expected in the remainder of the summer transfer window.
