The France international is still looking to join a club.
According to reports, Paul Pogba, a midfielder for Manchester United, has received an offer to join AS Monaco of the French Ligue 1.
Pogba, now 32, hasn’t participated in any competitive games since August 2023, just over a year after his second stint at Old Trafford ended. He was playing for Juventus in Italy at the time, and a failing doping test led to a four-year suspension from the sport. It initially appeared to ruin his career, but was ultimately reduced to 18 months.
The former Manchester United player could have played since March of this year, but he hasn’t signed with a new team despite regularly sharing updates of his training.
But that could soon change, according to Foot Mercato, AS Monaco are attempting to entice Paul Pogba to return to professional football.
After finishing third in Ligue 1 and earning a spot in the UEFA Champions League for the upcoming season, the Monegasques are deciding whether to sign Paul Pogba. They are reportedly looking for a “talented” midfield player. But it’s uncertain if Pogba will be able to return to his previous level of play after missing out on so much time on the professional match field.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup champion has stated that he wants to return to the best level possible after his absence. He has often been linked to a third stint at Old Trafford, moves to the Major League Soccer or Saudi Pro League, and even a return to France.
In April, Pogba responded as follows when asked where contract propositions had previously come from: “From all over. I want to see what suits me best. Because I’m in a crucial period of my life and career. It’s a decision I’m going to take the time to consider.”
For Pogba’s aspirations to rejoin the national team, playing in his native France—something the 32-year-old has strangely never done in his career—would allow national team boss Didier Deschamps to keep a closer eye on him.
