Barcelona star Pedri out for three weeks with muscle injury

The Barca midfielder is likely to return after the November international break.
Barcelona’s injury crisis has only worsened. The club have now been handed one of the biggest blows of the season. Star midfielder Pedri has suffered a muscle injury and is expected to be out for three weeks.
The player didn’t train today and felt discomfort after the game against Real Madrid on Sunday. The playmaker has barely received any rest since last season.
He has appeared in 53 consecutive games dating back to last season for both club and country, even international friendlies.
Pedri’s last proper rest came on January 26. He is the only player at the club who has not been able to get enough recovery time and continue to be in the starting lineup.
His injury was bound to happen. Overload of games has caused the player to suffer an injury, and now the midfielder is set for three weeks on the sidelines.
Pedri sustains a new injury and is out until the international break
Pedri will miss three Barcelona encounters. According to the reports from Spain, he should return after the November international break. Additionally, he was set to miss the Elche game after his red card against Real Madrid in El Clásico.
Barcelona are already dealing with many injury problems. However, some players have returned. Robert Lewandowski and Dani Olmo trained with the team.
Moreover, goalkeeper Joan Garcia has also started training. However, midfielder Gavi remains out, as he continues his indoor rehabilitation.
Nonetheless, Pedri’s injury has been a huge setback for the club, which has been struggling to put up a convincing performance under Hansi Flick’s second season.
Barcelona are now second in the LaLiga table. They are five points behind Real Madrid after their defeat to Los Blancos. They will next return to the field on Sunday, when they host Elche.
It will be an ideal chance for them to regroup and get back to winning ways.
