How many players have 100 Champions League goals?

Scoring in the UEFA Champions League is one of the biggest achievements for players and winning it is another milestone for them. Fans were accustomed to knowing only two players on the list of 100 UCL goals or more scoring charts. But it has now changed now as there is a third addition to the list.

Robert Lewandowski has now become the third player to score 100 goals in the competition, until then it was dominated by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Below we take a look at their competition’s goalscoring tally.

3. Robert Lewandowski: 101 UCL goals

Robert Lewandowski is one of only three players in Champions League history to score 100 goals or more, along with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Barcelona moved into third position in the new single-league structure (league phase) after defeating Brest 3-0 thanks to an early penalty kick from Lewandowski. In stoppage time in the second half, the Polish attacker scored goal number 101.

Lewandowski, 36, needed 125 games to reach the century milestone, which was 12 less than Ronaldo (137) and an additional two than Messi (123).

2. Lionel Messi: 129 UCL goals

Lionel Messi is second with 129 goals in the Champions League. Most of his goals have come in a Barcelona shirt, as he won four trophies with the club while a few have come in a Paris Saint-Germain shirt. However, Messi never won the trophy with the French club despite spending two years at the club.

If Messi had spent more years in Europe, he could have surpassed Ronaldo’s Champions League tally given he is two years younger than the Portuguese player.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo: 140 UCL goals

With 140 goals in the competition across his storied career—which includes Champions League goals for Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus—Cristiano Ronaldo sits in first place.

Ronaldo’s goal-scoring prowess has earned him the nickname “Mr. Champions League.” The striker has consistently come up for Los Blancos during crucial periods in the tournament, and his 140 goals overall is undoubtedly a top record for the Portuguese.
