Pep Guardiola’s Man City have had a trophyless season so far.

Manchester City have had a season which is not up to their standards. Pep Guardiola-led Man City have shown some lacklustre performances as per the 2024-25 season is concerned. The Cityzens were even unable to reach the UEFA Champions League knockout stage.

Pep Guardiola and Manchester City will now be looking to bring in a new set of players as they will be looking to build a better-performing squad for the upcoming season. Man City will most likely secure the UCL spot for the next season. Pep Guardiola’s men will be looking to come back stronger, and they also have the Club World Cup to fight for.

Who Man City should sign in the upcoming transfer window?

5. Florian Wirtz

As Kevin De Bruyne might leave Manchester City at the end of the season, the German Bayer Leverkusen star will be one of the top options for them. Florian Wirtz might even have an option in the form of Real Madrid, but Man City will be keen on sealing the deal here.

Wirtz is going to play an important role in the midfield areas for the Cityzens. He will also be able to build some crucial plays with Erling Haaland and will likely revive Man City’s form in the upcoming season.

4. Diogo Costa

Manchester City will most likely be looking for a goalkeeper. The Portugal and Porto FC goalkeeper Diogo Costa will have to be the top priority for the Cityzens. There have been some issues between Pep Guardiola and Man City’s current goalkeeper Ederson this season.

Diogo Costa looks in good touch and has produced some great performances for both his club and country, which is the main reason for him to get to a major European Club. Man City should go on to seal a deal here.

3. Morgan Gibbs-White

As Bernardo Silva is also linked to an exit, Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White can be an important option for Manchester City. He can be a perfect replacement for the Portuguese midfielder. Morgan Gibbs-White can also be a wide playmaker and even a second striker.

He can also link up with Erling Haaland, upgrading Man City’s attacking front to a great extent. Gibbs-White tracks back and presses with great intensity.

2. Goncalo Inacio

The Cityzens should also look into options to strengthen their defence. For that, the Portugal national team and Sporting CP defender will be a good and cheaper option in the market. Man City have faced some issues with their defence, and strengthening the squad by increasing the number of players is an option that Manchester City can look into.

Goncalo Inacio has dropped some good performances for the Portugal national football team and Sporting CP. It will only boost Pep Guardiola’s confidence to seal the deal with the defender in the upcoming transfer window.

1. Ederson

The Brazilian midfielder might switch from Serie A to the Premier League as Manchester City are still looking for a back-up for 2024 Ballon d’Or winner Rodri. Although Mateo Kovacic has stepped up and has shown some decent performances, the Atalanta midfielder Ederson can be an important option.

He is a good ball-winning midfielder. As Man City are looking to strengthen their squad, they can go on to grab a good deal for Ederson. He can also play multiple roles in the midfield, which will be a big add-on.
