In a 7-1 victory over Bayer Leverkusen, he became the first player to score five goals in a single game, making it one of the competition’s most memorable individual performances.

4. Robert Lewandowski – 20: Bayern Munich, 2019-20

The Bavarians were the only team in European Cup history to win every single game on their way to winning the cup.

3. Cristiano Ronaldo – 20: Real Madrid, 2015-16

In 2015–16, Ronaldo achieved three hat-tricks, setting a record for the most hat-tricks in a single Champions League season. Two of those were against Malmö and Shakhtar Donetsk in the group stage, and the other was against Wolfsburg in the second leg of their quarterfinal match.

2. Raphinha – 20: Barcelona, 2024-25

With 12 goals and 8 assists in 12 Champions League games so far this season, the Brazilian has already surpassed Lionel Messi’s 19 goals in 2011–12 as the highest goal contributions by a Barcelona player in just one season.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo – 21: Real Madrid, 2013-14

Ronaldo’s penalty kick in the game’s finale against Atletico Madrid helped Los Blancos win 4-1 in extra time and secure their eagerly anticipated 10th European championship.
He still holds the record for most goals scored by a player in a single Champions League season with 17 goals.
