Top 20 players with most Premier League hat-tricks

Only two players have reached double-digit figures in hat-tricks in the Premier League.
Scoring three goals in a Premier League match is no small feat. Some players never find the net in their entire careers. However, a few players have made the coveted skill of scoring a hat-trick appear as simple as assembling a two-piece jigsaw puzzle.
Hat-tricks are uncommon in Premier League football, the highest level of competition. Roughly 4% of the thousands of players who have participated in the competition since it began in 1992 have scored three goals in a single match.
We take a look at the Top 20 Premier League Hat-Trick Scorers of All-Time
20. Cristiano Ronaldo — 3

It’s odd to see Cristiano Ronaldo boasting only three hat-tricks in his Manchester United career despite recording the most trebles with 66 in his playing career.
19. Jamie Vardy — 3
With two Premier League trebles against Manchester City (2016, 2020) and one against Southampton (2019), Jamie Vardy boasts a minimum of three official hat-tricks to his credit.
18. Son Heung-min — 3

Despite playing in the league for a decade and being part of Tottenham Hotspur, Son Heung-min only managed to record three trebles in the Premier League.
17. Mohamed Salah — 4 (active)

Throughout his career, Mohamed Salah has scored at least five trebles for Liverpool FC. A four-goal haul against Watford in March 2018, along with hat-tricks against Bournemouth (2018), Leeds United (2020), and Manchester United (2021), are among his club trebles.
16. Cole Palmer — 4 (still active)

Cole Palmer has scored four trebles for Chelsea in the Premier League. Palmer became the face of one of the most famous clubs in England, and his ability to score hat-tricks contributed to his popularity.
15. Ian Wright — 5
After ‘The Eagles’ were promoted to the first division during Crystal Palace’s 1988–89 season, one of the big guns eventually signed a young Ian Wright. In 1991, Arsenal were the fortunate ones. Wright was at the height of his abilities.
14. Dimitar Berbatov — 5
In 2007, Dimitar Berbatov scored four goals against a poor Reading team to earn his first Premier League hat-trick whilst competing for Tottenham Hotspur. However, some of Berba’s trebles at Old Trafford were legendary.
13. Ruud van Nistelrooy — 5
When Ruud van Nistelrooy joined the Red Devils in 2001, defenders had no idea how to handle this Dutchman, who ultimately left a lasting legacy in Manchester. His best years were spent scoring goals at Old Trafford, although he had long tormented defences in the Netherlands.
12. Raheem Sterling — 5
How crucial was Raheem Sterling to Pep Guardiola’s team? Manchester City swooped in with a truckload of money that now looks like pennies after he became a teenage phenomenon at Liverpool.
Raheem the Dream gave ‘The Cityzens’ five hat-tricks, including a flawless one against Norwich City in 2022. Despite changing clubs, Sterling hasn’t moved up the list.
11. Robin van Persie — 5
Since Arsenal welcomed Robin van Persie to Highbury in 2004, it has always seemed as though he was destined for great things. But starting in 2011, RVP started to score goals like his life depended on them, making him a threat to defenders.
In the summer of 2012, following three trebles and 96 league goals for Arsenal, he was off to Manchester United. In addition to being known as one of the greatest traitors in football history, Van Persie won two more match balls as a result of the transfer, the second of which led to his first Premier League title.
10. Andy Cole — 5
In 1995, Manchester United cherry-picked Cole from Newcastle in less than two seasons. Following two hat-tricks, the Premier League Hall of Fame member contributed three further to his haul. It includes five goals in United’s historic 9-0 victory over Ipswich, a 1997 match against Barnsley, and his final Premier League hat-trick of four goals in 1999 against—who other than—his former club, Newcastle.
9. Luis Suárez — 6

In the summer of 2014, Luis Suarez left Liverpool for Barcelona. Premier League clubs were surely eager for the transfer to be finalised. Three of Suarez’s six Liverpool hat-tricks came against Norwich, along with hat-tricks against Wigan, West Brom, and Cardiff City.
8. Wayne Rooney — 7
Wayne Rooney didn’t achieve a Premier League hat-trick until two years after making his Champions League debut in 2004, when he famously scored three goals past Fenerbahce. After accumulating six league hat-tricks while wearing a Man United shirt, Rooney waited until 2017 to score his seventh hat-trick.
7. Erling Haaland — 8+ (still active)

If not for the Norwegian star who scored goal after goal, Manchester City would not have enjoyed the treble-winning season. On his eighth Premier League appearance, Erling Haaland scored his third hat-trick, matching the number of trebles Cristiano Ronaldo amassed over eight seasons.
6. Harry Kane — 8
His last may have been Harry Kane’s final Premier League hat-trick tally now that he is playing in the Bundesliga. The fact that every active player is still on the list and could surpass the England international, we might see the striker drop down the list.
5. Michael Owen — 8
For some younger fans, Michael Owen is more well-known for being a cynical commentator who has received a lot of criticism for his punditry. But once the most feared striker in Europe, the brilliant England international was a goal machine who won the Ballon d’Or.
4. Thierry Henry — 8
It’s no coincidence that Thierry Henry has a statue outside the Emirates Stadium. ‘Titi’ was unstoppable on his day. He signed for Arsenal in 1999 and was perhaps the most crucial member of Arsene Wenger’s team until his departure.
3. Robbie Fowler — 9
In the mid-1990s, Robbie Fowler won the PFA Young Player of the Year award in 1995 and 1996, treating the Premier League like his personal backyard.
However, Fowler’s hat-tricks were dispersed during his eight years at Liverpool, with his trebles occurring against league clubs at various stages of the season. While playing for the Reds, the Merseyside legend snagged eight match balls.
2. Alan Shearer — 11
At this point in the list, where players score five trebles in a single season just for kicks, things start to get serious. We’re now in the double digits. Alan Shearer is so well-regarded because he accomplished that during the 1995–96 campaign.
Despite playing in the Premier League until 2006, Shearer scored all 11 of his trebles in the 1990s.
1. Sergio Agüero — 12
Simply, without Sergio Aguero, Manchester City would not have experienced nearly as much success as they have in the past 10 years. He tops this list because he is the most prolific striker in the club’s history and has scored more goals than anybody else, with an incredible 12 trebles against different teams.
