Arsenal will look to offload some players first before pursuing potential summer targets.

After narrowly missing out on the Premier League title last campaign, Arsenal will be hoping to strengthen their squad on all fronts this summer as they hope to finally clinch the crown in the upcoming season.

The North London side are closing in on a deal to sign Italian defender Riccardo Califiori from Bologna in order to complete their first signing of the window. With potentially more incomings expected at the club, Arsenal will also look to sell some of their fringe players in order to maintain their financial structure.

With that said, here are the five players who might leave Arsenal this summer:

5. Kieran Tierney

One of the first names that could potentially exit Arsenal this summer is left-back Kieran Tierney. The Scottish defender has endured an injury-ridden time in North London, because of which he has lost his place in Mikel Arteta’s starting lineup.

After falling in the pecking order below the likes of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu, Tierney was loaned out to LaLiga outfit Real Sociedad for the 2023–24 season. With his future likely destined away from the North London side, the Arsenal hierarchy will be hoping to offload Kieran Tierney this summer in order to generate extra revenue for other potential targets.

4. Jakub Kiwior

Jakub Kiwior had a mixed-bag debut campaign at Arsenal, with the club already open to potential offers for the player. Following a long-term injury to new signing Jurrien Timber coupled with Oleksandr Zinchenko’s poor form, Kiwior was given playing time in an unfamiliar role at left back for the majority of the season.

The versatile centre-back put in a solid shift but also had a set of disappointing performances. Despite being a good backup option, the potential arrival of Riccardo Califiori from Bologna could see the game time of the 24-year-old defender getting reduced even further.

With Timber back to full fitness as well, Arsenal will hope to cash in on Jakub Kiwior this summer, with a number of clubs interested in the player.

3. Thomas Partey

Despite being one of the best midfielders at the club, Thomas Partey’s abysmal injury track record has opened up the possibility of a potential exit this summer.

In his four years at North London, the 31-year-old midfielder has managed to make just over 100 appearances for Arsenal, due to his recurring injury issues that have kept him on the sidelines for the majority of his stay. During this period, Partey was also one of the highest earners at the club.

With just a year left on his current contract, the Arsenal hierarchy will hope to sell Thomas Partey as soon as possible in order to not lose him on a free transfer next summer.

2. Eddie Nketiah

Despite Arsenal facing a reliable striker problem in recent years, Eddie Nketiah has failed to capitalise on the opportunity to make himself the primary target man of the team.

The 25-year-old forward had a decent season last season, recording six goals and three assists across all competitions. With Mikel Arteta preferring a more dynamic striker like Kai Havertz in that position, Nketiah’s long-term future at the club remains uncertain.

With Arsenal actively looking at potential striker targets like Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyökeres, Eddie Nketiah could definitely be on the move this summer.

1. Emile Smith Rowe

One of the brightest academy products of Arsenal at one point, alongside Bukayo Saka, was none other than Emile Smith Rowe. However, constant injury problems and poor form in recent times have resulted in the talented midfielder being reduced to a rotational squad player.

In order to comply with the Financial Fair Play rules of the Premier League and generate some additional funds, Arsenal view the 23-year-old attacking midfielder as a valuable asset to offload this summer. With Emile Smith Rowe looking for regular game time and clubs such as Fulham and Crystal Palace interested in the player, a potential deal satisfactory for all the involved parties could well and truly be on the cards this summer.
