These footballers are well-known in the sport.

Cristiano Ronaldo is among the best footballers to have ever played, he is by no means the only footballer to be born on this day. Other elite athletes who have excelled on the highest stages share the day with him, demonstrating that February 5th may be the most special birthdate in football.

Even though Adnan Januzaj, Verdan Corluka, and Rodrigo Palacio are all good football players on their own, their names cannot make the top five list since the list of football legends who share their birthday with such a legendary player is so vast. The top five names that share their birthday with Ronaldo are shown below.

5. Stefan de Vrij

Having played much of his career in Italy, Stefan De Vrij has long been regarded as one of the top defenders in the nation. During his lengthy and illustrious career in Italy, the Dutch international has won three Supercoppa Italiana, two Coppa Italias, two league crowns, and the Serie A Best Defender award in the 2019–20 campaign and was chosen to the Serie A squad of the season twice in a row in the 2019–20 and 2020–21 campaigns. Additionally, he shares his birthday with Ronaldo.

4. Carlos Tevez

Carlos Tevez and Ronaldo have birthdays on the same date. Despite his rather renowned attitude, Tevez was flourishing in every club he played for. Before solidifying his legacy at Manchester City the Red Devils’ bitter rivals, he established himself at Manchester United.

He is a former UEFA Champions League champion who has won multiple league crowns and domestic cups wherever he has played. Since retiring from playing, the Argentine has entered the managerial field. He most recently served as manager of the Argentine team Independiente before departing in May 2024.

3. Giovanni van Bronckhorst

Both legends have their birthday on the same date. The supporters will never forget Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s achievements to the country, as he is regarded as one of the finest players in Netherlands history. After retiring, he made the move to management, starting his career at his old team, Feyenoord, where he has had varying degrees of success.

In his first season, he led the team to the 2015–16 KNVB Cup, and in his second season, he helped the team win its first Eredivisie title in eighteen years. After winning the Scottish Cup with Rangers in the 2021–2022 season he most recently managed Besiktas of Turkey, where he won the 2024 Turkish Super Cup.

2. Gheorghe Hagi

Since the renowned player’s retirement, no one has even reached Hagi’s legacy as a Romanian icon in the sport. Since his retirement, Hagi has devoted much of his time to advancing Romanian football, managing numerous Romanian teams and, at one point, the national team.

In the 2022–2023 season, he led Romanian team Farul Constanța to their first Liga I championship while serving as manager. Ianis Hagi, the son of Gheorghe Hagi, is a football player who now plays for Rangers in Scotland. Moreover, Gheorghe Hagi and Ronaldo also share their birthdays.

1. Neymar

He has had a huge influence, winning league crowns in Spain and France and winning the Champions League with Barcelona in 2015. His contributions to Brazil, like helping them win their first Olympic gold medal in 2016, have solidified his status as one of the greatest of all time. As he turned 33 today, he shares his birthday with another football star, Ronaldo.

Neymar is still the biggest star to come out of Brazil since Ronaldinho, despite the fact that injuries may have somewhat damaged his reputation. He recently made a nostalgic short-term return to his old team, Santos.
