Portugal have impressed everyone with their eye-catching performance so far. They have secured back-to-back victories to seal their spot in the last 16. Roberto Martinez’s side defeated Czechia in the opening match after teenage sensation Francisco Conceição scored the winner in the final minutes.
They continued their dominance in the second match also as they thrashed Turkey to secure their passage impressively. With their form, Portugal have a golden chance to win their second Euro title after winning it in 2016.

GK: Diogo Costa
Diogo Costa continued his fine run of form in the last match as he helped them keep a clean sheet against Turkey. He pulled up some good saves to keep the score 3-0. Roberto Martinez has trusted him ever since he stepped in as the head coach. He has leapfrogged Rui Patricio by pulling some impressive saves and is expected to keep his place in the side.
RB: Nelson Semedo
Nelson Semedo will be given the chance to make his first start in the tournament. With Portugal’s place already sealed, Martinez will test his bench strength. CB: Ruben Dias
Ruben Dias has developed into one of the best defenders in world football after playing a crucial role for his club and national team. Under Pep Guardiola, he has developed into a commanding defender who is good with the ball at his feet and likes to put his body on the line. So far, he has racked up 4 recoveries while also maintaining an impressive 93.1% passing accuracy.

LB: Joao Cancelo
Probably one of the most versatile players in the national setup, Joao Cancelo has been deployed in the left-back and left-wing-back role recently after impressing for Barcelona this season. His ability to create chances for the team while also doing the defensive work efficiently makes him a dangerous player. Cancelo is a smart player who likes to exploit the free space in the opposite box. So far he has created 3 chances for the team also making 15 recoveries which is a good sign for the team.
CM: Ruben Neves
Ruben Neves had a brilliant season with Al Hilal as they finished the season with a hat-trick of trophies. He scored 8 goals throughout the season for the team, providing 15 assists. He played 45 minutes against Turkey in the last match but failed to create any chances despite showing signs of flashes. Ruben Neves will be aiming to fight for his position in the table.
CM: Joao Palhinha
Joao Palhinha provides a shield in the backline efficiently as he never hesitates to take challenges. His tenacious industry in the middle of the park makes him a crucial member of the team. So far Palhinha has a hundred percent success rate in tackles and passing after keeping things simple against Turkey. There is speculation that he will in the move this summer with Bayern Munich desperate to save him.
RW: Bernardo Silva
Bernardo Silva has impressed everyone with his performance in the opening two matches. He opened the scoring in the last match against Turkey to give his team the perfect start. Silva has created six chances so far while attempting four shots. He has also done the defensive part efficiently after making 8 recoveries and making one block. Silva also has the most touches in the opponent box with 14.
AM: Bruno Fernandes
Bruno Fernandes had a fantastic season with Manchester United as they finished the season after scoring 15 goals and assisting another 13. He helped the team to finish the season in strong form and he helped them win the FA Cup. Fernandes’s link-up play in the middle of the park has been impressive. He has attempted six shots so far while having just one on target. He opened his account in the last match after Ronaldo found him to score an easy tap-in.
LW: Joao Felix
The Barcelona frontman will be given his first start of the tournament after Leao is suspended. This is a glorious chance for him as he can help the team in the attacking position while also being the threat. His flicks and one-twos have been eye-catching at times. Now, he has the chance to put on an impressive performance and give a selection headache to the team.
ST: Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest players in the world who has represented his nation in the Euros six times. The Portugal icon has yet to open his account for the team in Euros but has played his part in the opening two matches. With him on the side, opposition defenders mainly focus on him which creates space for the other players. With Portugal’s spot sealed in the top 16, he will be aiming to open his account for the team.
