A good number of Premier League players will play in AFCON 2025.

This year’s Africa Cup of Nations begins sooner than normal. Players from up to 17 Premier League clubs are expected to travel to Morocco, the host nation. The event takes place from 21 December to 18 January.

The deadline for clubs to release their players has been made public, and it may change based on agreements.

If they advance to the final, players may miss up to six or possibly seven Premier League games in addition to FA Cup and Carabao Cup contests. Players who are eliminated early may only miss half of that sum because the group stages end on December 31.

The three teams that will not lose any players are: Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea and Daniel Farke’s Leeds United. Meanwhile, Sunderland are expected to be affected the most, while Wolverhampton Wanderers follow them in second.
